Government Grants have changed! What's the latest?

Government support for electric vehicle (EV) charging in the UK has changed once again—bringing both new opportunities and a few important adjustments to be aware of.

The biggest headline is a welcome one: funding has increased from £350 per socket to £500 per socket across several grant schemes. This boost makes installing EV charge points more affordable than ever, helping accelerate the transition to cleaner transport for homes and businesses alike.

However, not all updates bring higher funding. For state-funded schools, the grant has been reduced. Previously offering up to £2,500 per socket, schools can now claim £2,000 per socket. While still a valuable contribution, it’s important for schools planning installations to factor this change into their budgets.

In total, there are now five different grants available, each designed to support different types of users. Funding is accessible for homeowners with off-street parking, as well as landlords, flat owners, and renters—making EV charging more inclusive for those who don’t live in traditional single-dwelling properties.

As an OZEV-approved installer, we can guide you through the entire process and ensure you benefit from the maximum available funding. By choosing us, you can take full advantage of the government vo

ucher scheme, with savings applied directly to your installation—making the process simple and cost-effective.

With increased funding in key areas and broader eligibility across different property types, now is an excellent time to invest in EV charging infrastructure. Whether you’re a homeowner, landlord, or organisation, these updated grants make switching to electric easier and more affordable than ever.
